Thymol is a monoterpene phenol derivative of cymene, C<sub>10</sub>H<sub>13</suB>OH, isomeric with carvacrol, found in oil of thyme, and extracted as a white crystalline substance of a pleasant aromatic odor and strong antiseptic properties.
